Monday on the Couch: Crisis Management

Date
Apr 16, 2018 18:00 - 20:00 CEST
Location
iac Berlin, Linienstraße 65A, 10119 Berlin, Germany

Political pressure, security concerns, extreme weather conditions, social defamation - there exist many potential challenges when managing (international) projects. But how should we manage these 'crises'? How can we react?

This Monday on the Couch will explore how larger non-profit or humanitarian organizations deal with external shocks, crises, and risks. Which mechanisms do they have in place? What can we learn from their modus operandi and experience?

This interactive panel discussion will be moderated by Bosch alumna Charlotte Watermann. Our experts:

Regina Bauerochse Barbosa has headed the Corporate Security Unit at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) since 2016. Amongst others, she is responsible for the coordination of acute crisis management - reaching from dangerouns weather conditions to criminal violence. Previously, she has worked for the GIZ in various leadership positions both in Germany and abroad.

Rose Beaugrand works as Project Officer for the German Red Cross in Berlin and manages all humanitarian projects in Syria. Together with a team of international and national staff in Syria, Rose oversees the implementation of humanitarian activities primarily in the sectors of relief and logistics. Previously, she has worked in different humanitarian settings, most notably with the Danish Red Cross in Lebanon and the World Health Organisation in Sierra Leone.

Monday on the Couch is a discussion format within the Bosch Alumni Network. One Monday each month, we are inviting experts from our network to the iac Community Space to discuss a current political or societal topic. After the discussion, there is time to continue the conversation over drinks. Are you interested in organizing a Monday on the Couch event? Please feel free to send us some lines with you idea at info@boschalumni.net!
