  • Are you part of an interesting project or collective and would you like to share your own story and further develop your idea by interacting with a broad audience the festival offers you the space for it.

You can submit your proposals until 30 July via the programme proposals form.

iac Berlin covers the Festival fee for the 15th International MitOst Festival and partly reimburses travel costs up to a maximum of 200 Euro for up to 10 members of the Bosch Alumni Network. Staff members of MitOst and iac Berlin will form a jury and decide based on the written applications. Slogan: care – create – celebrate

Almost one generation span ago, the fall of the Iron Curtain has profoundly changed the world order and the shape of Europe. Building bridges between East and West – this might have been the most crucial driving force of MitOst’s ten founding members in 1996. Back then, who would have imagined the path that MitOst as an association or the path that Europe took within the past 20 years? With populism, inequalities and endangerment of liberal democratic rights on the rise in Europe and its neighbouring countries, building bridges beyond borders is still an important task today.

At this year’s festival, we are happy to once again unite people who care about the current developments but also strive for looking beyond; people who want to share knowledge, celebrate culture and the plurality of opinions; people who are eager to start or create something together. You are warmly invited: to meet up with people from Europe and its neighbouring countries, to support each other, to explore new ways and methods, to celebrate and simply spend a good time together – at the 15th International MitOst Festival! The call for registration is open now.

Frankfurt (Oder) / Słubice: one destination, two European cities

This year’s festival venue Frankfurt (Oder) / Słubice is situated in the Polish-German border region. Due to its history and geographic position, the twin-city is particularly suited for cross-border encounters and exchange. Among citizens on both sides of the river Oder, urban developments, the current demographic and social changes and Europe’s cultural and political role are discussed with particular urgency. On-site, a number of German-Polish cooperations have already been realised: not only between Viadrina University and Collegium Polonicum which host a wide range of socially and socio-politically relevant events, but also many students and citizens-led projects campaign for intercultural exchange, thereby creating an active and exciting cultural scene.
